Flying high IKEA track – #30

This week we went all aerial – with the track almost all off the ground! We’ve built a few more supports and we have more to put together – so more flying train tracks are on the way! Our IKEA train sets are getting a serious workout and blue tack is our best friend 🙂

Birthday Balloons – #29

It was Keira’s 4th birthday today — so we did something a little different. We set up her new Tidmouth Sheds set (birthday present) and set a small track up around it. We then covered it in her birthday balloons (including a couple of special ones from her party) and sent the trains in. It was good fun and a nice little change from our huge track builds (back at it next week)!

Family fun – #25

A trip to Grandma and Poppa’s with all our train sets was an epic event and lots of family fun. It was nice to have everyone helping out with the build and Aunty Melly had fun dancing over the train tracks with Keira. Somehow Tricky the cat didn’t seem at a all phased at having his house turned into a wooden railway for kids.

Bridge or Tunnel? #24

Bridge? Tunnel? Or a combination of both? We aren’t quite sure what it was we created – just that it was awesome! It all started out with Keira deciding we needed to make wiggly worms, from there they each needed a tunnel and these became double bridges! Ayra thought it was a smart railway – she has her say towards the end.

Weaving the shelves – #22

What better use for a set of shelves than to become the supports for our largest track so far! This weeks adventure has given us a few new ideas so stay tuned for the next couple of tracks to come!

Mountain speed #20

This week we built a mountain and then tested its safety factor – sadly it was a little lacking! But Keira and Tobin had a lot of fun 🙂 Our toy trains flew down the track at a great speed.

Happy New Year #18

Wishing you all an awesome 2014 – oh and yes it is meant to be the Sydney Harbour Bridge 🙂
This train track was a lot of fun. We had had the idea of using the sparklers but needed to wait for the kids to go to bed. This actually ending up working really well as they looked great when is was pitch black.
Happy New Year Everyone!
